Long Shot: The Dice Game

Everyone gets a laminated player board and a dry-erase marker to track a horse race. On your turn, you roll two dice to move a horse and determine which secondary action triggers. You are buying horses, placing bets, and crossing off grids to chain actions together. The board gets crowded and the roll-and-write mechanic means you are constantly adjusting your plans on the fly. The cards can be swingy, which might annoy pure strategy players, but it gets the job done.
